Abstract: Coherent systems of intermodal hubs are the main tool for restructuring, reshaping the modal-shift of mobility, aiming at harmonization of accessibility and quality of living objectives, differently, according to the features and requirements ofdifferenturbanareas. A common goal is the reduction of automobility, with priority in territories mostly affected by motorized traffic. The transfer from car to alternative transport modes, especially to public collective transport, requires intermodal structures, from simples correspondences between park&ride and transit stations to complex transport hubs. Bucharest City and its territory of influence, still not organized into a coherent metropolitan area, do not have a vision and a comprehensive strategy of intermodality and neither a infrastructure for it. This paper outlines some issues for an intermodal transfer system in Bucharest, for restructuring travel flows inside the city, including those polarized from the surrounding localities. A special attention has to be payed to a system of intermodal hubs around the historic central core of Bucharest, helping to the reshape of mobility inside it, for the rehabilitation of the valuable historic patrimony and of public spaces, that leads to a better ambiance and attractiveness of the area, for citizens and tourists, with social and economic gains
